| At Truly Texan, we showcase select* Texas companies who make or design at least some of their own products. While many of our artisans offer Western decor or Texas gifts or Texas t-shirts, most create products suitable for people who aren't even crazy about Texas. I hear there are folks like that.
When you see custom furniture, fire-pits, custom fireplace screens, wildflower t-shirts, garden art, fine art, jewelry, tableware or decor you like, click the link to visit that company's website and buy it there.
We picture only a smattering of what these Texas artisans offer. Most all of them specialize in custom work - from mesquite beds to custom canvas art or neon signs to personalized corporate gift baskets and unique jewelry.
And don't forget to tell them that Truly Texan sent you!
* Since we started this site in 1998, we've turned down more companies than we've accepted. We are here solely to promote Texas artists, designers and companies. | | |

Some favorite THINGS TO DO in Texas:
Drive around the Hill Country. Seriously. Drive from Fredericksburg to Bandera and take your time. The Medina River with its huge, old cypress trees is just gorgeous. And if you live on the Medina and have no descendants or none that you like, and you want to pass your property on to someone who would truly appreciate it, I'm your person. You can adopt me!
Visit Historic Places: •The San Jacinto Monument and Battleship Texas are amazing tributes to Texas heroes. And while you're down that way, take the ferry from Galveston to Port Bollivar. Fun, fun, fun!
•The State Capitol, of course. I have a chunk of the original from the restoration done in 1995. Pretty cool.
•Admiral Nimitz Museum in Fredericksburg. It's pretty small, but also pretty interesting.
Always a good bet: The Bob Bullock State History Museum. Fabulous exhibits and you must go to the Star of Texas theater for an interactive bit of Texas history that will surprise and delight you.
The Claiborne Kyle Log Cabin is a 4 room "dog trot" cabin that's very much the same as it was in 1850. It's ridiculously difficult to find. It's on CR136, better known as Old Stagecoach Road, maybe 3-5 miles from Center Street. It's on the right and watch for an orange street sign marking a gravel road. Note that it's only open the first Saturday, April through September. It's a shame more people aren't helping preserve and appreciate these historic treasures.
